EXPERIENCE

Let yourself be swept away by the streets of Valledupar, where every corner holds a story and every sound seems to have its own melody. This experience is an invitation to explore the city with all your senses: to look, listen, touch, imagine, and feel the history that lives on in its plazas, churches, alleyways, and murals.

We’ll begin the tour with several photo stops, perfect for capturing those spots that embody the essence of Valledupar. We’ll pass by the Government Palace, Plaza de Banderas, and the monument dedicated to the Vallenata heroine, connecting with the figures and events that shape the city’s identity.

We’ll continue our tour to the Vallenato Music Cultural Center, a space where the Caribbean’s musical heritage comes to life and where cultural artifacts are preserved—artifacts that bear witness to the roots, traditions, and sounds that have made vallenato a globally recognized art form.

The tour will also take us to notable churches and one of the province’s oldest cemeteries, where silence, stories, and folk legends will allow us to discover a more intimate side of the city.

Amid colonial alleyways, architecture, urban art, and murals by local artists, we’ll discover how Valledupar has managed to transform its past into a contemporary artistic expression. We’ll continue to the iconic Plaza Alfonso López Pumarejo, the historic and cultural heart of Valledupar, where colonial houses, trees, the sounds of the city, and everyday life come together in a space that has been the setting for gatherings, celebrations, and important moments in history.

Finally, we’ll visit the Artisan Center, a space where art, creativity, and cultural expressions converge to conclude our tour, connecting the city’s memory with new ways of expressing and living its identity.
